Ah, a new update. Well, I've cleaned up the site a bit if you check out the links. I added some new content too. I have a few new songs if you check them out on my soundcloud player, also. I haven't updated all of my videos, but that'll happen soon since the vimeo playe seems to work out okay. I'm still wrapping up with Yoga Bitches and Kung Fu Kingdom, though. Looks like I have a couple of busy months ahead of me.

On the other hand. I haven't had time nor have found the engineer to do my album. Unfortunately I don't have much funds. But I have about 17 songs that I'm trying to get done for my personal album and just need a helping hand to help record all these damn songs. At this rate, I'm not sure when I'll get there! Sometimes I just want to program drums and plug in my guitar direct like I've been doing, but what happened to the good 'ol days of recording acoustically and not digitally?! I want to bring that back and just create a simple but elegant rock album. I'm hoping it'll help launch me a bit more into the composer's world and maybe help me get some fans one I start promoting it. It's what I love to do the most. Write music!

It's been a long time since I've updated. So here goes...

I am currently working at Wavegroup Sound in Fremont doing some MIDI work. So I've been busy since January. I have a couple of new projects I have also been wrapped in, such as "Yoga Bitches" and "Kung Fu Kingdom."

I finally bought Dreamweaver CS5, so it's going to take me awhile to try and figure out how to use this thing and do some editing. I'm mainly trying to convert all of my videos on my audio page into a cleaner flash player. I will also be updating my projects section with new projects and try and liven up this website. Lastly, I'd like to have some sort of blog implementation on this main page, but that's also a bit confusing for me. Oh the joys of learning new software. Anyway, stay tuned for some new stuff added to the site!

It's already October. Which in case you don't realize, that means I am about to graduate from Ex'pression College. It's been MONTHS since I've even updated this website since I've been so rediculously busy and stressed out with finishing up some school things. I just have a bunch of little things to do like some final school paperwork, editing and tightening my resume, reel, references, etc. It's quite a task and it's very daunting. Despite how stressful it is to be coming out of school in such an economy, I am very excited to find work. Sadly, I make a decent buck at my current non-audio job. So my goal is to save some money at my part time job, and really, I mean save... And look for some internships to continue my education if you will. I'm going to put my ego aside and pretend that I'm still a n00b, because in reality, I am. I still have so much more to learn which is why I'm willing to really dive into internships and learn how companies and studios really work, whether it is post production in film or video games. I'm excited to be heading out of here, it was really a great experience and I've met so many friends and networked as much as I could. I will probably be relocating to LA within the next year unless I find an opportunity otherwise. But for now I need to take it step by step.

On another note, I've been doing some metal mixes for my friend Robert which have turned out REALLY well, and I have another project coming up (which has been delayed dued to schedule issues) which involves a female tibetan guitarist! Talk about different! It's going to be a great finish to this year, can't wait to see whats going to go on in 2010!

April 19, 2009

So I've been trying to use Dreamweaver so I can update my website, but, I'm not a graphics designer, nor a web designer, nor a... designer of any type other than sound. But we'll just have to see how it goes.

So between then and now, I've become an official Pro Tools 7.4 Operator. Yes, I know, PT8 is out, and I will take my update test as soon as it is available. Although I must admit, I don't really use Pro Tools as much as I'd like to, give that I do a lot of composition more than anything.

I also tried out this thing called OSCulator, which is a program that allows you to sync your Wii Remote to your computer, and therefore use your Wii Remote as a MIDI controller for your DAW. I've been using it to control MIDI CC 11, expression, to "conduct", if you will, my strings. What is also cool is that I can map the X, Y, and Z positions of my Wii Remote to 3 seperate parameters of my synth and wave it around and you get some really cool sounds. NEAT!!!

I've also been learning FMOD, which is kind of an awkward program to use, having worked with DAW's that function so much more differently. But I've been splitting out some of my music into stems, working on seeing how I can go about creating dynamic music. The next step would be to take that to UT3. But I'm afraid we'll be covering plenty of that in Game Audio, but it won't hurt to know more. I can't go into the professional world of audio unprepared! I'm more than prepared!

By the way, my business cards came in, and they look super good, again... Thanks to Robert who has done a superb job on my website, logo design, and business cards.

As far as school, I am in Advanced Recording Production 1, which is basically focusing on making an album. I will admit, Studio 2 is pretty awesome, 1073's, some Manley tube-age... TG1's and TG2's. Great room, can't wait to do some mixes in there.

And lastly I've been playing COD4 like crazy. I beat FEAR2, and I dislike the multiplayer... So I think I might have to finally cough up $40 and buy Left 4 Dead. Hell, I haven't even played COD5 or Fallout3.

A couple of super exciting updates in the life of Cleveland... I am finishing up Audio Post Production 1 and Live Sound 1, so I should have a new project up soon. It is definitely my best piece of post production yet. I put alot of work into it so I'm exciting to show it off and get some feedback. It's been a stressful and a heck of a long month but things are coming together.

As far as this site, we got the audio portion back to where it should be, but with the addition of 2 videos. There seems to be a bit of lag with all the media on one page so we will try to optimize it. The contact page is also up and running, you can now send me an email via the web mail form. So really, theres not much besides uploading a bit more content in the audio seciton.

I should be going for my Pro Tools 7.1-7.4 210M Operator exam next week. I need to get it before they switch out the tests for Pro Tools 8 (which still won't be awhile). I actually got Pro Tools 8 at home finally so I am messing with that. The audio is great, it's just like 7.4, unfortunuately, the MIDI is still lacking. You can't do the "same as channel strip" like you can in Logic. I love and hate Logic Pro 8. I refuse to do any audio in Logic, but Pro Tool's MIDI in improving. Unfortunately, my PLAY libraries by EWQL aren't completely compatible. Even with the latest update and decreased stress on my CPU, the PLAY library craps out and locks up my computer. Yay for digidesign and 3rd party plugins.

More to come. = )

The audio portion is up and running, still need to do some tweaks and get more content up but I'm very, very happy with the way this has turned out. Big thanks to my buddy Robert Pessagno for working hard on this site and making it look and run great. Also thanks to my host, Godaddy.com, pretty easy and darn cheap. So welcome to my website and I hope you enjoy your stay ;)

My website is up!!! It is still under construction. Be patient = )
